About Romã Studio
My name is Azza
I am an architect and visual artist working between Portugal and Egypt, where my practice is a continuous dialogue between structure and spontaneity. My journey evolved from designing spaces to crafting art that breathes new life into fragments. At Romã, I explore the beauty of resilience, working across diverse media from the precision of architectural mosaics and glass to the layered textures of textile and paper mixed media.
By hosting workshops and creating art across different landscapes from the vibrant coast of Lisbon to the historic heart of Egypt I view reclaimed materials not as waste, but as stories waiting to be rearranged. My goal is to bridge the gap between structural thinking and artistic freedom, inviting others to find beauty in every fragment.
Today, the practice lives across two homes: the Lisbon studio and the Romã Studio Center in Egypt.
